translation, du français vers l’anglais

As a bilingual copywriter, translating comes naturally, I enjoy it and that shows in my translations. Whether I’m translating from scratch or re-working/editing already translated documents, making them read as if they were originally written in English is a challenge I really relish.

I’m also meticulous about quality, a perfectionist. It doesn’t matter what the subject matter is, the translation must always be excellent. My rates depend on the project, its length, complexity, timescale… I’m happy to work by word count or, as some clients prefer, for an hourly rate and accept payment in pounds sterling or in euros.

Another area of expertise, sometimes though by no means always related to translation is telephone interviewing. When it’s someone whose first language isn’t English, as as is fairly frequent in our multi-cultural environment, awareness of cultural difference and alertness to possible ambiguities or potential areas of misunderstanding is crucial.

Being bilingual myself is a huge advantage and helps me put my interviewees at ease and willing to talk as freely and naturally as their command of English or French allows.
